David West remembers what some NBA talent bird dogs thought of him a few years ago. And he never wants to forget. West, perhaps the league’s most underrated power forward, has progressed since the Hornets made him their first pick, 18th overall, in the 2003 NBA draft. LAS VEGAS (AP) — A fire on the roof of the Monte Carlo hotel-casino forced guests and gamblers to flee and sent a plume of smoke above the Las Vegas Strip before easing about an hour later, hotel officials said.

Managers at the Hooters restaurant in Spokane Valley say Christopher Kimsey was not a customer of the restaurant and casino, never entered the building and didn’t know anyone inside. They say it was a fluke incident Kimsey ended up in their parking lot.
